Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has called on his club to attempt to sign David Villa or David Silva from Valencia as they battle in one of their worst seasons in the last 8 years.

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez announced that he is going to buy a few top players and to do that he would need to sell some of his men. Liverpool’s next season transfer budget is around 25m and that won’t suffice if they want to sign Spanish super stars David Villa and Silva.

The word is that David Villa is not close to a move to Man City but is moving a step closer to Liverpool. It appears that Rafa Benitez wants to partner the Spaniard with fellow countryman Fernando Torres.
